First post from the new place!
Last week was a preparation for the big move. Chris and his parents came over last weekend and helped to paint and clean the house. They painted the dining room, master bedroom and nursery. Chris and I came back and finished during the week. We also started to move stuff over on Tuesday. Finally on Sunday was the BIG move, and we got everything all moved in the early afternoon. Then came all the unpacking.
So far we are about 75% unpacked. There are small things that need to get put together like the TV stand and certain elements of the kitchen. Otherwise the house in functional. Now comes the immense job of clearing the yard, cleaning the basement and fixing the kitchen and bathrooms.
Chris has been super busy with work. He has been receiving bids left, right and center and we're trying to figure out a feasible schedule. Its not a bad thing but it's funny how everything comes at the end of the summer, and then things get spotty during the winter. Oh well.
Things with the baby are going really well. We got an appointment finally with the eye doctor, its in November but at least we have one. She is doing super good at holding her head up and can even sit up on her own for like 1-2 seconds before gravity takes over and she flops to the side. I also had a chance to take her to the local wading pool and she really liked it. I think Cadence will just love water and swimming when she gets bigger. She has also taken to trying to suck on her fists. Not sure what thats about but she will knock her soother out and shove her fist right in!
I went shopping a bit today, our favourite baby store had a huge summer clothing sale with everything priced at a dollar so I went with $20 and really cleaned up! I ended up with some brand name dresses, one cute bathing suit, a house coat and a sweat suit which will fit her this winter.
This weekend we have a family BBQ at the cottage. We're going up for the day, it should be a nice time. I will finally be able to take Cadence in the lake!
Anyways, no time to dally. Still lots to do and since Chris is home there are twice as many hands around to get the work done. Time to get to it! Enjoy the long weekend everyone!
